Theology and Leadership Development Programme
The Theology & Leadership Development programme encourages contextual learning in which the experiences of participants are brought into interaction with the teaching material. Through this process, understanding and knowledge, skills and spirituality, are developed in a way which draws on both the disciplines of study and the practical experience of participants. Insights from a variety of cultures, from both men and women are provided and valued?. Relationships with pertinent partners in the field of academia is constantly being sought to enhance the effectiveness and potentials of ITCC and its Associate Churches.
Students who are interested in attaining a university qualification after a successful interview with the University of Roehampton (UOR) will enrol with UOR - after completion of the Diploma. Those who do not require a University Certificate will be taught at ITCC site but can be considered for transition to the UOR to pursue their study to degree level through the AP(E)L system.
Learning Outcomes
A critical knowledge and understanding of theories both biblical, historical and contemporary that undergird leadership practice.
An ability to form independent opinions and to use research evidence to support conclusions, to distinguish between facts and opinions, and to make appropriate choices where necessary.
The ability to present material in an organised and coherent manner in both written confidently to group and class discussions.
An ability to relate, compare and contrast biblical, contemporary and modern church leaders with both biblical and contemporary theories.
Develop skills appropriate to a variety of leadership roles, ministries both in the church and the wider community.
The ability to undertake studies to enhance personal growth and development.
The ability to integrate research findings and taught material in a practical and demonstrable manner.
To enable students to appraise critically their theoretical knowledge in the light of experience gained in their supervised placement.
To enable students to study a wide range of disciplines and to be able to apply relevant information and skills in practice.
Admissions Criteria
Admission to the programme is open to members of the NTA, Associate Churches and individuals aged 18 years old and above, and those who have the propensity to learn and a desire to improve their theological knowledge. ITCC is an Associate Partner of the University of Roehampton and will act as an Agent to recruit students for their Theological Degree courses.
Students will be screened by an interview subsequent to completing an Application Form. All successful applications are subsequently seen by the Director of Studies.
